Laurie Satel is a dedicated and experienced attorney who strives to provide resolutions for her clients while educating them about the law and its impact on their lives. Laurie created Satel Law to serve families, business owners and individuals within the distinctive yet interconnected areas of real estate, commercial finance, estate planning and business law. Understanding how these fields work together, Laurie assists clients on multiple levels to resolve their legal needs.    

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Northern Virginia, Laurie’s interest in history and the workings of government led her to intern on Capitol Hill for then-Senator Joe Biden. She holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia, initially working as a field archaeologist. After witnessing the detrimental effects of inadequate estate planning, Laurie developed a strong passion for this field and assisted clients in establishing protective trusts to avoid probate.

During the Refi Boom, she delved into real estate and mortgages. In 2005, Laurie moved to Tampa, Florida. Pursuing her legal education at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, she embarked on her legal journey while her youngest child began kindergarten on the same day. Throughout her studies, Laurie gained invaluable experience in title insurance and real estate legal matters while earning an Estate Planning Certification alongside her law degree.

In March 2017, Laurie founded Satel Law with the vision to provide superior real estate and estate planning services to our community. While growing her practice, Laurie recognized the many challenges facing business owners and the legal assistance she could provide. With her unique background, Laurie has grown Satel Law into a boutique practice supporting individuals and companies in real estate, commercial finance, estate planning and business law, most recently with unexpected circumstances of the pandemic including landlord-tenant issues, contract resolution, and assisting business owners and families with their planning needs. Laurie also holds the designation of being a certified title agent affiliated with Fidelity National Title Insurance Company.        

Establishing Satel Law in March 2017, Laurie embarked on a mission to offer exceptional legal services to her community. As her venture thrived, Laurie’s astute insights into the hurdles faced by businesses led her to extend her legal support. Leveraging her distinctive background, Laurie has cultivated Satel Law into a boutique firm adept in real estate, commercial finance, estates & trusts, and business law with a specialization in representing financial institutions in the field of government guaranteed lending.

Laurie finds immense fulfillment in aiding others, dedicating her time to volunteer work with Project H.E.L.P. (Homeless Experience Legal Protection) at Metropolitan Ministries’ Outreach Center and Wills For Heroes. Satel Law boasts an esteemed A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau and has earned the prestigious distinction of being named as an Elite Lawyer in Florida.
